The Muskegon County Democratic Party meets on the second Thursday of each month, at 7:00 p.m. at the Muskegon Township Hall.
Please join us!
 
Vision: The Vision of the MCDP is to make life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness a reality for all by organizing Democrats within the county with the goal of electing Democratic candidates to office.

William Snyder
1st Vice Chair

William Snyder is a lifelong resident of Muskegon and has long been dedicated to community activism in the Greater Muskegon area. Will currently works for the Michigan House of Representatives as a
Legislative Aide and Constituent Relations Manager for Muskegon area State Representative Terry Sabo. Prior to that, Will served as Terry’s Campaign Manager. Will has managed or chaired many political campaigns in the Muskegon area ranging from small grassroots school board and city council races to complex judicial elections, and targeted state legislative campaigns. Will is heavily involved in the Knights of
Columbus Dan M. Kennedy council #706, where he is a serving as Building Association Past President. In his role on the board he helped the club avert financial crisis and the closing of its doors and implemented over$175,000 of building improvements. William is a former member of UFCW local #951 where he served as a union steward and was a member of the bargaining committee. Will has found a passion for and protecting workers’ rights ensuring average people have a voice in the workplace. He is the former Vice Chair of the Muskegon County Young Dems, and a Precinct Delegate. He has been a longtime supporter of the Muskegon Area Relay for Life – where he was a former board member. A graduate of Mona Shores High School, he also helped create the Mona Shores Adopt-A-Family program, now in its 10th year, which provides underprivileged families in the Muskegon area a full Christmas.

Bob Wright
2nd Vice Chair

Bob has been involved in the Democratic Party as long as he can remember; in fact, Bob’s dad served as Chair of the County Party. In 2016, Bob was elected as a Trustee for Cedar Creek Township. Bob has
previously been Vice Chair of the Planning Commission, and has been a Precinct Delegate since he could vote. Bob works for the Muskegon County Road Commission, where he is  the President of UAW Local #2151 and the Treasurer of the Port City Building Association (CIO Hall). Previous to his tenure at the Road Commission, he worked for 21 years as a Housing and Shipping Dock Supervisor for Zelenka Nursery. Bob is married to Pat and together they have three children and eleven grandchildren. Bob is an avid outdoorsman, and enjoy hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and spending time with my family.

Bethann Rahn
Treasurer

Bethann has lived in Muskegon County most of her life. She is following in her father’s footsteps by being active in the party. Like her father she has served as  a trustee and Deputy Supervisor for Egelston
Township. Bethann has previously served on the County Party Board of Officers as secretary for one year and treasurer for two years. She is also a life time member of the VFW #7729 Auxiliary where she chairs the Texas Hold’em committee. This event raises much income that is donated to the local veterans. Bethann has her MBA with a minor in marketing and is the Business Manager for Cruise & Travel Experts in Spring Lake and also an instructor at Baker College. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her great nieces and great nephews, friends, and family as well as spending time outdoors and traveling.

Mimi Rankin
Secretary

Mimi is a long time resident of Muskegon Heights and is dedicated to her community. She serves not only as the Secretary of the MCDP, but she also serves on the Muskegon Heights’ Planning Committee, Muskegon Heights Board of Education, and is the Chairperson of Muskegon Heights Festival in the Park. Since 1997, Mimi has been the Community Outreach and Diabetes Coordinator for the Health Project. Thousands of pregnant women and children have been enrolled in the MIChild, Healthy Kids, and
Medicaid as a result of her work. Mimi also served as the lead coordinator for the Health Project’s study on African Americans with diabetes. She organizes the annual African American Diabetes Conference and the Men’s Health Fair. Mimi also hosts a radio show called Journey
to Better Health.
